Question 1

What is MOREONYX?

Accepted Answer

MOREONYX is a global leader in ultra-thin natural stone systems, founded in 2009 and headquartered in Shuitou, Fujian, China. The company specializes in 5mm ultra-thin stone slabs (up to 3x2 meters), backlit LED semi-precious stone panels (agate, onyx, crystal), lightweight composite stone panels (honeycomb, carbon fiber, honeycomb-backed), luxury stone bathtubs, and integral bathroom systems. MOREONYX works with architects, developers, and brands worldwide — most engagements are delivered under long-term NDA, so client names stay off the public record.

Question 2

What products does MOREONYX offer?

Accepted Answer

MOREONYX offers: 1) Ultra-thin natural stone slabs (5mm thick, up to 3x2m seamless format); 2) Backlit LED semi-precious stone panels (agate, onyx, crystal, amethyst, tiger eye, malachite); 3) Lightweight composite stone panels (honeycomb, carbon fiber, honeycomb board, fiberglass backed); 4) Luxury stone bathtubs (onyx, marble, solid stone, wall thickness 30-60mm); 5) Integral bathroom systems; 6) Kitchen stone systems; 7) Elevator interiors; 8) Fireplace stone solutions; 9) Yacht interior stone; 10) 1mm flexible stone veneer.

Question 3

What are MOREONYX specifications?

Accepted Answer

MOREONYX specifications: Stone thickness 1mm (flexible) to 5mm (ultra-thin panels); Maximum slab size 3x2 meters seamless; Stone bathtub MOQ 1 set, wall thickness 30-60mm; Panel/brick MOQ 30 square meters; Lead time 20 days; Quality control to internal standards (CE/ISO certification in progress); Surface finishes polished (5000 RPM grinding), honed, brushed; Founded 2009; 626+ product varieties; 7 languages supported.

Question 4

How does MOREONYX handle client confidentiality?

Accepted Answer

MOREONYX serves architects, developers, and luxury brands across the Middle East, Europe, and beyond. Most client relationships are governed by long-term NDAs, so specific names are not published. Reference projects are shared as anonymous technical case studies instead. The company has 15+ years of industry experience and is headquartered in Shuitou, Fujian, China - the global center of the stone industry.

Question 5

What is the MOQ for MOREONYX ultra-thin stone panels?

Accepted Answer

MOQ starts from 50 m2 on stock colours; custom and project-based orders are quoted individually. Stone bathtubs start at 1 set. Sample orders ship separately with no minimum.

Question 6

How fast can I get a sample, and what do I receive?

Accepted Answer

We cut your sample from the very block you would order - a 200x200 mm face panel, a backlit slice if you are lighting it, and the backing you are weighing. Most samples ship in 5-7 working days (standard 10-15), FOB Xiamen.

Question 7

What is the production lead time and which port do you ship from?

Accepted Answer

Bulk production runs 30-45 days FOB Xiamen (3-5 weeks after drawing sign-off). Shipment leaves via Xiamen port in seaworthy fumigated wooden crates with foam protection.

Question 8

How do you backlight onyx or agate panels?

Accepted Answer

Backlighting is 80% preparation and 20% stone. We saw onyx and agate to 3-5 mm, bond a translucent resin or honeycomb backing, and supply the lightbox specification - LED spacing, diffusion distance and colour temperature - with the panel.

Question 9

Can MOREONYX stone panels bend around curves?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Veneer down to 1 mm flexes for columns and curved surfaces; 3-5 mm panels are specified for flat applications. Where a curve demands it we engineer the face thickness and backing to the radius on your drawing.

Question 10

Are MOREONYX honeycomb panels fire-rated for public buildings?

Accepted Answer

Honeycomb-core panels are tested to EN 13501 A2 (limited combustibility), making them suitable for public and high-rise interiors. Test reports are issued with every quotation.

Question 11

Can ultra-thin stone panels be used outdoors?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Panels pass ASTM accelerated weathering - 2000 h UV, 1000 h salt spray, and 50 freeze-thaw cycles - before we spec them for exterior cladding.

Question 12

What tolerance do you cut to, and do you supply CAD or BIM files?

Accepted Answer

5-axis CNC cuts each panel to +/-0.3 mm, with inspection records kept per panel, per project. We hand over DWG elevations, RVT families, OBJ/STEP and shop drawings with our 600+ materials already tagged.

Question 13

Do you produce under our brand, and how is confidentiality handled?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Under white-label and NDA, your name goes on the panel and ours stays in Shuitou. We sign an NDA before any drawing crosses the table; client-exclusive designs are never reused, shown, or carried into the next catalogue.

Question 14

How much lighter is a MOREONYX panel than standard 20 mm stone?

Accepted Answer

Natural stone arrives at 18-20 mm and roughly 55-60 kg/m2. Our veneer panels finish at 3-5 mm and 1.5-3.5 kg/m2; honeycomb composite panels at 8-20 mm and 12-18 kg/m2. That is the difference that allows stone on yachts, elevator cars and ceiling systems.

Question 15

Can MOREONYX be used as a second source next to our current thin-stone supplier?

Accepted Answer

Yes - most partners start exactly that way. Send us the spec you are buying today (thickness, backing, finish, panel size) and we match it: our standard veneer is 5 mm, made thinner to 1 mm where a curve demands it, cut to +/-0.3 mm on 5-axis CNC. Panels arrive to your existing drawing and fixing detail, so you can qualify us on one project without re-engineering the system.

Question 16

Why do you standardise on 5 mm when thinner panels exist?

Accepted Answer

Below 5 mm the stone stops being a structural face and starts behaving like a film - it needs a carrier, it telegraphs substrate movement, and it is harder to handle on site. We keep 5 mm as the working standard for large-format panels because it survives fabrication, transport and installation; we only go down to 1 mm where the radius genuinely requires it, and we engineer the backing to suit.

Question 17

Can translucent stone panels be used in wet rooms, pools or fountains?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Backlit and translucent panels are built as a system - stone face, translucent or honeycomb backing, and a sealed lightbox detail - which makes them suitable for wet rooms, bathrooms, spa areas and water features. Tell us the exposure and we specify the face thickness, backing and sealing method for that condition.

Question 18

Where is MOREONYX made, and how long have you been doing this?

Accepted Answer

MOREONYX grew up in Shuitou, China - the global capital of natural stone - and has worked alongside the quarries, saws and craftsmen there for fifteen years. Today we hold 600+ materials and ship from Xiamen. White-label and NDA production is standard; your name goes on the panel.

Question 19

Do you support architects and specifiers with drawings and BIM files?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We hand over DWG elevations, RVT families, OBJ/STEP and shop drawings with our 600+ materials already tagged, plus per-panel inspection records cut to +/-0.3 mm. Samples are cut from the actual block you would order and ship in 5-7 working days.

Question 20

What does a lightweight honeycomb panel weigh, and where is it specified?

Accepted Answer

Standard 20 mm stone is roughly 55-60 kg/m2. Our veneer panels finish at 3-5 mm and 1.5-3.5 kg/m2, and honeycomb composite panels at 8-20 mm and 12-18 kg/m2 - still tested to EN 13501 A2 (limited combustibility) for public and high-rise interiors. That weight saving is what puts real stone into elevator cars, yacht interiors, ceiling systems and ventilated facades.
